Menghe Institute is founded on the principal of furthering the Ding Family's passion for expanding the authentic Menghe Medicine education to the Western World.  Its first school was founded in 1917 in Shanghai, China by Dr. Ding Ganren.  The school has now established into the world renowned institution called the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

MENGHE LEGACY

The Menghe Medicine School has a long history beginning in the Ming and Qing dynasties and the Ding family is the most representative of the 4 founding families in the Menghe history.

MHC 101

Intro to Menghe History and Herbal Medicine

This course will introduce the Menghe history and tradition, as well as the basic theory of Menghe herbal medicine. (8 hours / 8 CEUs).

MHC 102

Menghe Diagnosis and Herb Selection

This course will focus on the diagnosis method based on Menghe theory. This course will teach how to apply simple formulas in clinic and how to modify formulas according to patient conditions. (8 hours / 8 CEUs).

SC 204

Menghe Medicine - Simple Formulas

This course will teach the applications of simple formulas in clinic and how to modify formulas according to patient conditions. (16 hours / 16 CEUs).

DSM 102

Integrating TCM Herbs with Western Medicine

This course addresses the different aspects of herb, formula, and drug interactions, ranging from complementary to toxic. Students will learn the most commonly prescribed medications, their actions, side-effects, and herbal alternatives. (16 hours / 16 CEUs).

DSM 202

Menghe Medicine Treating Respiratory System Diseases

This course will review the etiology and pathogenic mechanism of the respiratory system. Students will become familiar with the vocabulary used to describe the structure and function of the respiratory system as well as disorders of the system. Students will also learn how to conduct diagnosis based on the Menghe Medicine theories, as well as how to use the herbs and formulas to treat respiratory system disease. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to develop a plan and appropriate intervention for diagnosis and management of a respiratory disease using the Menghe theories and medicine. (32 hours / 32 CEUs).
