Lower back pain is one of the most common pain among adults. Injury, excess activity, wrong posture, herniated disc, scoliosis, arthritis etc. are causes of lower back pain. Body acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, and massage are effective ways to help patients with lower back pain. I always recommend my patient do the following when they are at home and at work.
1. Posture, posture, posture Posture is the simplest way to address the most lower back problems. Good posture keeps each part of the body in alignment, adding on adequate back support will minimize the stress on the spine. We find ourselves in several positions throughout the day. So it’s important to learn how to keep correct posture in different positions.
2. Wall sits Taking a break from your computer work? Try some wall sits instead of sitting on the couch. Wall sits are easy to do and will relieve the lower back pain. Stand with your back facing the wall, keep a distance about 10-12 inches. Then carefully lean into the wall until your spine flat, slowly slide down the wall until your knees are bent slightly while pressing your back into the wall. Hold this position for 10-15 seconds and repeat 8-10 times.
